The Federation of Arab Journalists
Cairo - Arab Today

The Federation of Arab Journalists (FAJ) denounced on Tuesday Israel's detention of Nasser Abu Bakr, the chairman of the Palestinian journalists' syndicate.

Abu Bakr was arrested on Monday by Israeli troops on El Karama border crossing while returning from Egypt but he was later released after being interrogated.

The federation slammed also the arrest of three other Palestinian reporters by Israeli troops in al Quds and Hebron cities.

It called on all non-governmental organizations to condemn such Israeli malpractices, which violate the freedom of expression and human rights.
