Egypt’s presidency strongly condemned a fatal attack on the Russian ambassador in Ankara earlier on Monday.
“The presidency fully denounces and rejects this cowardly terrorist act,” it said in a statement, offering condolences to the family of the slain diplomat and the government and people of Russia.
It stressed Egypt’s full support for the government and people of Russia in the face of terrorism that does not belong to a religion or nation and seeks to destabilize the whole world.
"The act reiterates the importance of concerting international efforts to combat and uproot terrorism," it added.
