Manama - Arab Today

Bahraini Parliament Speaker Ahmed ben Ibrahim Mullah condemned on Monday the terrorist attack that hit the Jordanian city of Karak.

Ten people were killed and 34 were wounded Sunday when armed men opened fire on two police patrols before fleeing into an ancient castle popular with tourists in the city of Karak. The siege ended with terrorists being killed inside.

In a cable to Jordanian Parliament Speaker Atef Youssef Tarawaneh, Mullah denounced terrorist and criminal acts, expressing support of all measures taken by Jordan to guarantee stability and security.

He called on the Arab Parliamentary Union, the Arab parliament and other parliamentary bodies to stand united against terrorism and those funding terrorists.

Seven members of security forces, two Jordanian civilians and a Canadian tourist were killed in the attack. Thirty-four people were wounded, including 15 members of security forces, 17 Jordanian civilians and two foreign tourists.
