On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, Secretary of State John Kerry greeted Queen Elizabeth II and the people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on her birthday that falls on June 13, according to the US State Department.
In a statement, Kerry said that her outstanding service to her country is a testament to the spirit of the British people. I am grateful for her commitment to our special relationship. For many of us, this relationship isn’t just special. It’s personal. The people-to-people connections between us are run deep and wide.
