Azhar Imam praises UAE's great support for Egypt

Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb received Sunday Egypt’s new ambassador Wael Gad to the UAE as part of coordination between Al-Azhar and the Egyptian embassy in the UAE.

During the meeting, Tayyeb praised the UAE for its great support for Cairo in order to realize the aspirations of the Egyptian people for further stability and prosperity.

Tayyeb commended the UAE’s distinguished support for Al-Azhar and the country’s prominent role in serving the issues of Arab and Islamic nations and its tireless efforts to counter extremism and terrorism.

Al-Azhar is working at all levels to spread moderate Islamic thought and bring social peace in the various countries, Tayyeb said.

For his part, Gad said that Al-Azhar is highly respected from the whole world through its moderate thought.

Gas said that he would work to communicate with this religious edifice to exchange views on the latest developments at the Arab and international arena.
