Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, has stressed that the Ministry of Education spares no effort to ensure that school Olympiad and other projects and initiatives aimed at supporting sports in the UAE succeed and school sports are developed through a clearly-defined system that enables UAE athletes to score achievements internationally.

In a statement at the conclusion of the Third School Olympiad in Sharjah, Al Hammadi said that sports in the UAE has greatly advanced thanks to the generous support extended by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Al Hammadi thanked Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for being instrumental in the success of the Olympiad and empowering national champions to compete at international events.

The minister also thanked H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah for facilitating the organisation of the event in Sharjah. He thanked Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), educational zones and all sports bodies.

Al Hammadi said that the Ministry of Education appreciates the forging of partnerships with the Ministry of Health, the UAE National Olympic Committees (NOC), the General Authority of Youth & Sports Welfare, to support the school Olympiad.
