Dubai - Arab Today
Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai Dubai - Arab Today Dubai has been named one of the Top 52 Places to Go in 2014 by the New York Times. Ranked at number 23 in the prestigious list, Dubai is selected amongst other destinations including the Seychelles, Cape Town and California. The entry highlights the Emirate's winning bid to host Expo 2020 and Dubai's Vision for Tourism 2020 as well as some key developments such as Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International Airport, new hotels and upcoming attractions such as IMG Worlds of Adventure. Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said, "We are honoured to have been chosen as one of the top destinations to visit in 2014. Being listed at number 23 within the top half of the New York Times' list of 52 places is impressive and well-earned. 2013 was a successful year for Dubai, with the winning of our Expo 2020 bid and the announcement of our Vision for Tourism 2020 amongst other milestones and accolades such as this confirm that our hard work is paying off. We are pleased that Dubai's diverse and wide-ranging tourism offering is being communicated and recognised around the world and we look forward to welcoming even more visitors to Dubai in 2014."
