Coordinator of the national progressive trend Khaled Ramadan

Coordinator of the national progressive trend Khaled Ramadan Amman - Iman Abu Kaoud Coordinator of the national progressive trend in Jordan, Khaled Ramadan, believes Jordanian political mobility has begun a new phase. He explained that "the mobility which began two years ago, lacked political vision and a clear program, but it is organising itself now.” Ramadan said in an interview with Arabstoday that "slogans used by the political movement were dominated by emotion, and ranged between fighting corruption, amending the constitution and reform." He also rejected adopting divisive slogans that would prevent national unity. Ramadan, considered that, "Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan is financially organised, therefore it controls the pace of the popular movement, but does not directly reflect the concerns of the people as far as it reflects its own political concerns." He added that the Muslim Brotherhood are following a long-term policy, as they are waiting to see what will happen in Syria, and this affects political mobility in Jordan. The current consultations taking place between Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and parliamentary blocs, are according to Ramadan, “shameful, illogical and unclear." He added that the economic crisis in Jordan will push people into a cycle of poverty, leading people to disengage from these movements. Ramadan dismissed the motion that revolutionaries should be armed, pointing out that the authorities can more justifiably fight armed protesters, “revolutions should remain peaceful” he said.
