Head of Moroccan journalists' Syndicate, Younis Mujahid
Casablanca - Jamila Bzioui

The first deputy of the head of Moroccan  journalists' Syndicate, Younis Mujahid said, in an interview with Arabs Today, that conference of the National Union of the Moroccan Press (NUMP) is an opportunity for members of the conference to discuss the  performance of the current leadership of the union headed by Abdullah Bakali since two years.

This came following the first session of NUMP's conference, organized by the NUMP in Bouznika under the slogan "No democracy without reforming media sector and protecting journalists".

"According to NUMP's basic law, we organize a conference to review all the problems, whether related to laws or regulations or sectors, or the daily problems faced by journalists, or the evolution of journalism and the media sector," Younis said.

"The union considers that freedom of expression and freedom of the press issue is a continuous and permanent chain, and every time we must renew our demands because the reality is changing and renewed," He added.

Younis indicated that the conference discussed all the profession's laws, in order to come out with recommendations for its reform, in terms of publishing houses and press, which includes the press law, the national press council, which also includes professional journalists law, as well as cinematographic Centre laws, and all laws relating to the press and media.

He added that several issues of the printed and digital press, agencies, and audiovisual and private radio stations will be discussed during the workshops, in which my journalists colleagues will submit all their recommendations, which will be approved by the conference.
