The US-led coalition has killed 16 Daesh terrorists in southern Mosul city, in Nineveh governorate on Thursday, said a statement by the military media cell.
The coalition jets shelled a car owned by Daesh group, killing all terrorists on board.
In a visit to the 9th Armored Division, Minister of Defense Khaled Al Obaidi said the division will start the liberation of Mosul from the grip of Daesh.
On Wednesday, three separate car bombings in the Iraqi capital Baghdad have claimed at least 93 lives.
