The Turkish General Staff announced Monday two of its fighter jets intercepted a Russian military plane as it approached the Turkish airspace. The two jets sent warning signals to the intruding plane and barred its way into the airspace over Turkey's Black Sea territorial waters off the northwest Kirklareli Province, according to a statement by the General Staff. This is the second such incident in just four days. On Thursday, October 24, four Turkish F-16s were sent from Akhisar airbase, west Turkey, to monitor a sortie by a Russian fighter plane along the Black Sea coastline from the Turkish-Bulgarian borders to the Turkish-Georgian borders.
