Turkey's prime ministry office imposed a temporary blackout on coverage of a car bomb blast that took place in the central Turkish city of Kayseri earlier Saturday.

It urged the media to refrain from publishing anything that may cause "fear in the public, panic and disorder and which may serve the aims of terrorist organizations," ABC News reported.

Thirteen military personnel were killed and another 48 people injured after a bus was hit by a car bomb, Turkish military confirmed.

The bus transporting soldiers was hit by the fatal explosion near a university, security sources said

Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Veysi Kaynak said the blast was caused by a car bomb targeting the bus.

Broadcaster NTV said the bus was carrying off-duty soldiers and civilians when it was hit by the blast near a bus stop at the campus of Erciyes University.
