Austin - UPI

A third person, struck by a car at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas, has died, a hospital official said Monday. Sandy Le, 26, had been in critical condition since Thursday. She and 21 other people were hurt when a car driven by Rashad Owens, 21, sped through an area closed to traffic for the 10-day festival. Jamie West, 27, and Steven Craenmehr, 35, were pronounced dead at the scene. Six injured festival goers remain hospitalized, two in critical condition, the Austin (Texas) Statesman-American reported Monday. Rashad was jailed on a charge of capital murder. Le was the youngest of four children of a Vietnamese family from Pass Christian, Miss., and recently moved to Austin, her brother-in-law, Steven Gates, said.
