The Citadel admits mishandling molestation case

The president of a South Carolina military college said his school should have proceeded further after receiving a molestation complaint against a counselor.Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa told a news conference in Charleston, S.C., that a summer camper's allegations against cadet Louis "Skip" ReVille in 2007 should have been pursued, WCIV-TV, Charleston, reported.ReVille, now 32, faces charges of molesting five teenage boys and is expected to face six additional charges.Rosa said Monday the family of a camper came forward and their attorney provided a 169-page statement alleging ReVille molested their son in 2002.Rosa said ReVille strongly denied the allegations at the time and the school dropped the matter."We interviewed other camp staff which were very complimentary of ReVille," Rosa said. "When the family did not pursue the matter, we did not either. We should have."At the time The Citadel was not bound by statute to report molestation incidents to police.
