A suicide car bomb rocked Shahr-e-Safa district in the southern Zabul province 340 km south of Kabul on Monday killing three attackers on the spot and wounding another, provincial police chief Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Liwanai said.
"Four terrorists driving an explosive-laden vehicle with the objective to target the district headquarters of Shahr-e-Safa but before reaching the target it exploded at 11:30 (local time) killing three attackers and wounding another," Liwanai told Xinhua.
He also said that since the police asked the driver of terrorists' vehicle to stop, the would-be suicide bombers rejected and the blast killed three on the spot.
Another would-be suicide bomber was seriously injured in the blast, he added.
Taliban militants are yet to make comment.
