At least 44 people killed in heavy rain and winds in Peshawar
Islamabad - QNA

At least 44 people have been killed and 186 injured due to rain and heavy storm in Peshawar, Charsadda and Nowshera of Pakistan.

According to details, 29 people were killed and 170 injured in Peshawar alone.

Eight people were killed and 16 wounded in Charsadda while seven people were killed in Nowshwera, according to (Radio Pakistan).

The injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar and district headquarters hospitals of Charsadda and Nowshera.

Emergency was declared in all the hospitals in the affected areas of the province.

Rescue work is still underway in the affected areas. However, the rescue services faced difficulties due to the bucketing rains strong winds.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has forecast more heavy rains with windstorm for the next 24 hours in Malakand, Hazara and Peshawar.

Military help was also called out in the affected areas.
