Nude man crashed dump truck into home

Police in Maine said a man believed to have been under the influence of drugs drove a dump truck into an apartment and attacked a resident while naked. Investigators said Eli T. Hutchins, 24, of Lovell, left a party at the condominium complex in South Berwick Wednesday night after getting into a fight and drove his dump truck while nude over several lawns, The Portland (Maine) Press Herald reported Friday. Hutchins then drove the 1994 Ford dump truck through the wall of an apartment where a resident and his 7-year-old son were sleeping, police said. They said Hutchins began attacking the resident, who defended himself by striking Hutchins in the head with a hammer. Hutchins was evaluated at York Hospital and taken to the York County Jail. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, aggravated criminal mischief and two counts of assault. Police said tests are being carried out to determine the drugs Hutchins had taken.
