Myanmar's Suu Kyi 'encouraged' by talks

Myanmar's democracy champion Aung San Suu Kyi on Saturday said she was "encouraged" by her first meeting with the country's new nominally civilian president. "I am glad to see him and I am encouraged," she told AFP in the first indication of her views on discussions following Friday's one-hour meeting with President Thein Sein, a former general, in the capital Naypyidaw.
