
A group of armed militants raided a sub-office of Afghan election commission in Darul Aman the western part of Kabul city Tuesday morning and so far two police have been killed and five others including two police sustained injuries, eye witnesses said. Two blasts have rocked the area and gun battle continues, according to the eye witnesses. The attack took place at 11:30 a.m. local time. Police have cordoned off the area and do not allow journalists to get access to the site of the blasts. The compound of the sub-office of the election commission is in the control of the attackers and all the employees inside the compound are said to have been taken hostage by the militants. Police personnel, according to officials have been trying to ensure the safe release of those who have been stranded inside the compound.
