A man was in custody in New York after checking a loaded rifle, three other weapons and ammunition at John F. Kennedy International Airport, authorities said. Joseph Pentangelo, a spokesman for The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, said Keenan Draughon of Clarksville, Tenn., was arrested after he checked the loaded rifle, a second rifle, two handguns and large-capacity magazines in gun cases at an airport terminal. Serial numbers on both rifles had been painted over, the report said. Draughon, 23, was arrested before passing through metal detectors as he tried to board a flight to Charlotte, N.C. It is illegal in New York to carry a handgun or possess a high-capacity magazine. It is also illegal to deface weapons to hide serial numbers. Draughon was legally transporting a shotgun, Pentangelo said. He faces five counts in all -- two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of criminal possession of a defaced rifle and two counts of criminal possession of large-capacity magazine -- CNN said
