Portroyal - UPI

A U.S. Postal Service truck caught on fire from an unknown cause after being involved in a fender-bender in Port Royal, Fla., officials said. The incident happened as the mail truck was attempting to make a left turn and bumped into a pickup truck Wednesday, the Naples (Fla.) Daily News reported. When the postal driver went to check on the other driver, the mail truck burst in to flames, officials said. At first, it was "very minor damage," said Naples Fire Battalion Chief Pete DiMaria. However, when firefighters arrived eight minutes after the incident was reported, the postal truck was fully engulfed in flames, DiMaria said. "It pretty much burned down to the tires. There's not much left of it," he said. The cause of the fire is being investigated, DiMaria said. The Post Office is working to identify any mail that was in the truck and notify recipients, DiMaria said.
