
India has ended the eight-year ban on the military supplies to Nepal, government sources said Thursday. The equipment provided by India so far includes 216 light vehicles, 154 heavy vehicles and some arms. Among the heavy vehicles are 58 trucks with a capacity of 7.5 tonnes, four ambulances and 25 mine-protected vehicles, sources said. India has supplied the military gear to the Nepal after 2005 following the seizure of executive powers by King Gyanendra in February 2005. The military equipment would be utilized by 62,000 army soldiers' who are expected to provide security for the general elections to be held on November 19.
