The Houthi militias destroyed a large number of mosques and schools in Yemen, and turned some of them into ammunition depots, a Yemeni official said.

The Saudi Press Agency, SPA, today quoted Yemen’s Awqaf Minister Dr. Ahmed Attiya as saying that the Houthi militias and the deposed president Ali Abdullah Saleh blew up 299 mosques in different parts of Yemen.

Another 24 mosques were severely damaged while 146 of them were turned into military barracks and depots for weapons and ammunition.
