Fainting incidents, bus-car crash disrupt traffic on Sydney Harbor Bridge

Traffic on the Sydney Harbor Bridge has been disrupted after two tourists fainted during the bridge climb, followed by a bus-car crash, local media reported on Wednesday. A bus and a car collided at around 12:15 p.m. local time on Wednesday, causing the shutdown of a southbound lane, the Australian Associated Press (AAP) reported. About 20 passengers were checked by paramedic officers and four of them, including three adults and one child were taken to hospital. The crash occurred after buses and taxis were diverted from their designated lane following two medical emergencies earlier on Wednesday. Just after 11:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday, a 61-year-old woman fainted while attempting the Sydney Bridge Climb, prompting the closure of one of the bridge's lanes, The woman was rescued by paramedics but she declined ambulance transport to hospital, according to AAP. Around 10 a.m. (local time) on Wednesday, a 19-year-old man fainted while attempting the bridge climb. Paramedics walked him down the bridge and took him to Sydney Hospital in a stable condition, the AAP reported. Wednesday's incidents follow a string of emergencies that disrupted traffic on the bridge over the past week.
