Rescuers have found seven survivors of the minibus crash in Dagestan. One child was found dead, a duty police officer in the republic's Tsuntinsky district told ITAR-TASS on Wednesday.
"This information is preliminary. It is being clarified. District communications are bad," the policeman said, adding that it was still unclear how many passengers had been on the bus.
He said the accident might have been caused by adverse weather conditions. "It has been raining heavily in the district in the past few days. Perhaps, the road was damaged, and that caused the crash," he said.
The accident occurred near the settlement of Sagada on Wednesday morning. Dagestan police earlier told ITAR-TASS that the minibus might have carried up to nine people, including children.
