Seven people were killed and 22 others injured when a bus rolled over due to ice on the road near the Central Anatolian province of Kırşehir on Monday, according to Today's Zaman.
The accident took place at around 11 a.m. when the bus driver lost control at the 25-kilometer mark on the Kırşehir-Ankara highway near Özbah. Roads have become icy due to heavy snowfall in the last few days that has brought daily life to a standstill in many parts of Turkey.
The bus reportedly flipped onto its side, crashing through the road barriers.
After the accident, the highway was closed to traffic and the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) along with other emergency services were dispatched to the area.
