Blast targeting judge kills, wounds 25 people in south west Pakistan

One person was killed and 24 others wounded in an explosion targeting a vehicle carrying anti-terrorist judge Nazeer Ahmed Langove in southwestern Quetta city of Pakistan on Tuesday, said officials.
A senior police official, Nazeer Ahmed Langove confirmed that Judge Langove remained unhurt in the blast that took place on Quetta's Double Road.
He further said that two gunmen guarding the judge were among those injured. The judge was the target of the explosion that smashed the glasses of nearby homes and shops in the area. According to police, the bomb was planted in a car parked on Double Road.
The security forces immediately cordoned off the area and a search operation went underway. The injured were rushed to nearby civil hospital for immediate medical treatment where an emergency was imposed.
The Governor and Chief Minister Balochistan province have condemned the blast and a report has been summoned. Balochistan Bar Association gave the call for a strike in the province against the attack.
Quetta is the capital of resource-rich Balochistan province, facing militants' insurgency and witnessed many attacks on government officials since last many years.
