At least 74 Chinese fishermen went missing in the area of ??the Xisha Archipelago (Paracel Islands) due to Wutip typhoon, as reported by Xinhua news agency on Monday. According to latest data, as the typhoon went approaching to China three fishing boats sank with 88 fishermen on board. Fourteen people were rescued. The authorities of Hainan island and Guangdong Province (South China) sent helicopters and rescue vessels to search for victims. Wutip became the 21th typhoon in China. On Sunday, with the approach of the cyclone the "orange" level of risk has been declared in the PRC. China has adopted a four-level warning system for natural disasters, in which the levels of risk with increasing threats are identified in blue, yellow, orange and red.
