African Union chief calls for calm in Senegal vote

African Union president Thomas Boni Yayi on Saturday called for calm in Senegal, on the eve of elections in which incumbent Abdoulaye Wade is seeking a highly disputed third term. Yayi, the leader of Benin, in a statement reiterated "his appeal for calm to all politicians and stakeholders so that the electoral process takes place in transparency and peace to ensure its credibility."
