New Delhi - Xinhua

At least nine school children were killed and more than 20 others were injured in a road mishap due to fog in the northern Indian state of Haryana Monday morning, said police. The mishap happened when the bus in which the school children were traveling collided head-on with a truck amid heavy fog on Saha-Shahabad road in Ambala town. While eight school children died on the spot, one succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital. The 20 others injured have been admitted to a local hospital where the condition of some are said to be serious. Mishaps often take place due to fog which is common in northern India, particularly in the winter months of December and January.
