
Colombian authorities confirmed on Wednesday that an ambulance aircraft crashed near Villavicencio's Vanguardia airport in the central Meta department, killing six people. The Meta Civil Aeronautics authority confirmed that the airplane, which belongs to the company 'Aereas de Colombia', crashed around 06:30 local time (11:30 GMT) en route from Bogota's El Dorado airport to Solano municipality in the southwestern Caqueta department, according to Colombia's Caracol news. Residents in the area where the ambulance airplane crashed were quoted as saying that the plane had caught fire before it collapsed. Authorities are investigating into the accident.
