Six children have died in a fire in the Krasnoyarsk territory this night. They include an 18-month-old girl and four boys aged two, four, six and seven. The age and identity of the sixth child is being established, a duty officer for the Yemelyanovsky branch of the Russian Interior Ministry department for the Krasnoyarsk territory told Itar-Tass on Sunday. The fire broke out in a two-apartment wooden house in the Yelovoye village of the Yemelyanovo district of the Krasnoyarsk territory at around 01:00 local time on Sunday (or 21:00 Moscow time late on Saturday). A local law enforcement source told Itar-Tass that 14 people, of whom 11 were children, could be in the building when the fire erupted. “So far, only six bodies have been found. An investigation is under way,” the source said. "The first fire crews arrived at the scene sixteen minutes after the fire broke out. The flames had spread to an area of 200 square meters by that time. There was a threat that the fire could go over the adjacent buildings,” a source at the Siberian regional center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said. The fire was liquidated at 22:07 Moscow time.
