Vientiane - Arab Today

A total of 31 people were killed in 215 road accidents in Laos from May 30 to June 12, according to the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security.

During the period, the accidents also left 343 people injured, of whom 54 were in critical conditions, local daily Vientiane Times Monday reported, citing the department figures.

Capital Vientiane topped the list with 72 accidents and six fatalities, followed on the list by Champassak province with 25 accidents and two fatalities. The third was Luang Prabang province with 21 accidents and three fatalities.

Laos holds over 1.3 million motorcycles, 337,000 cars and 53,000 trucks till the end of 2015.
