At least three persons were killed in rain-related accidents in northern India from Saturday as the monsoon rain caused widespread flooding, water logging and traffic chaos across northern India, said officials on Sunday.
Three persons were killed in two separate incidents of wall collapse due to heavy rains in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, while two others were injured in similar accidents in the state.
Rains continued to pour down in northern India, including the capital Delhi, on Sunday on fourth consecutive day.
Many low-lying areas in the capital were submerged, leading to traffic snarls at busy intersections of the capital, said local media.
The Delhi government set up a 24/7 helpline for monsoon related woes on Friday but admitted that the problems couldn't be solved immediately, said Press Trust of India.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed that there was much less water logging this year than the previous year.
