
At least 27 Taliban militants were killed following military operations by Afghan national security forces.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement Tuesday that the operations were jointly conducted by Afghan police, Afghan army and Afghan intelligence operatives.
The statement further added that the operations were conducted during the past 24 hours in Kunar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Balkh, Zabul and Helmand provinces, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
The Ministry said at least 21 Taliban militants were also injured and six others were detained during the operations.
Afghan security forces also confiscated various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives during the operations, the Ministry said.
The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far.
