A Ukrainian soldier and a member of the so-called self defence force were killed by gunshots in Crimea on Tuesday, local police said.Crimean police said a sniper fired shots in two different directions from an abandoned building close to a Ukrainian military base in the regional capital of Simferopol. The shots also injured two more soldiers, one Ukrainian and the other a self defence force member. The police added that the incident resembled tactics used during the mass unrest in Kiev, when snipers reportedly killed both protesters and police officers. “This might be a planned provocation to destabilise the situation on the day of the signing of Crimea’s accession treaty with Russia,” the Crimean police said on its homepage.
