Moscow - Xinhua

Two planes made rough landings in two different Russian cities on Friday, with no injuries reported in both incidents, local media reported. In the Russian city of St. Petersburg, an An-148 middle-range airplane with 44 people on board made a rough landing at the Pulkovo Airport at 6:17 p.m. Moscow time (1417 GMT). The Itar-Tass news agency said the pilots safely landed the plane belonging to Rossia Airline after burning out the fuel. Preliminary information showed the plane lost a gear during the takeoff. In the central Russian city of Ulyanovsk, a small Yak-18T aircraft with only two people aboard landed on its hull after gears failed to come out, the regional emergency ministry said. Local authorities added that the plane remained intact after the landing.
