An ultra light plane crashed in the southernmost Austrian state of Carinthia Wednesday afternoon, killing both occupants, local media reported.
The plane departed the Klagenfurt city airport in the southern state before crashing into the building where it became stuck just before 2 p.m.. Emergency services crews found one of the occupants already deceased upon their arrival, while the other died shortly after.
The building is adjacent to an agricultural college that had 40 students present at the time. Fortunately none of the students were injured, though were given a shock by the crash.
The aircraft also leaked kerosene into the building causing a major fire risk, forcing fire brigade personnel to implement fire prevention measures as a result.
Local media reported the aircraft may have been on a training flight from a flight school.
But a police spokesperson said the cause of the crash is as yet unknown, and will now be investigated and the bodies of the deceased identified.
