12 Taliban militants killed in clash with Pakistani security

At least 12 Taliban militants and a Pakistani soldier were killed in a clash in Landi Kotal town of Khyber tribal district near the Afghan border. A Tehrik Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander, Qari Kamran was among the dead. Qari Kamran belonged to Tehrik Taliban Nowshera and was involed in Resalpur and Nowshera bomb blasts. He was also involved in attackes of security forces, Pakistan''s (Dunya News) reported. "The operation was carried out after an intelligence tip off. During the operation 12 Taliban militants were killed and one soldier embraced martyrdom," a senior security official said. An intelligence official said troops surrounded a house during the operation and recovered three women and four children after three hours of exchange of fire. (QNA) LY
