
Altogether 11 people have died and 40 others were injured in two traffic accidents in central China's Henan Province and northwestern Shaanxi Province, local authorities confirmed Saturday. A truck and a bus collided near a village in the Xixia County of Henan Friday afternoon, killing eight people and injuring 21 others. In another accident, a tourist bus carrying staff members of a local company collided with a truck on a highway in the Zhouzhi County of Shaanxi, leaving three dead and 19 others injured. The bus driver suffered severe injuries and is being treated, while the truck driver and owner have been detained by police. All the injured people have been rushed to hospital, according to local authorities. Police and traffic authorities are further investigating the accidents.
