A young man died and a young woman was injured in a car accident in Salo, southern Finland, on Sunday morning, local media reported.
According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the police, the car was moving to the west when it was suddenly driven off the road and crashed into a ditch about 9 kilometer from downtown Salo.
The car was totally damaged, the young man was killed and the woman wounded. No other vehicle was involved in the accident, said the police.
The injured woman was sent to hospital for treatment, and her life is not in danger, reports said.
The police will investigate if alcohol and excessive speed were involved in the accident.
