
The shallow quake hitting Indonesia's Aceh province on Tuesday killed one person, seriously wounded three others and damaged 368 houses, an official said here on Wednesday. Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman for the national disaster management and mitigation agency, told Xinhua by phone all the victims and damages of the 5.6-magnitude quake were in Pidie district. The quake also damaged nine mosques, eight Islamic school buildings, 13 school buildings, two bridges, 36 stores and three government office buildings, he said. The local disaster management and mitigation agency had distributed logistics and set up tents, said Sutopo.
