Cairo - Ahmed Al Sayed

Egyptian footballer Amir Adel of Danish Fibero Club expressed his pleasure for his first participation with the Egyptian national team during the friendly match against Togo. He said, “It makes me proud to join Egypt’s national team. I hope to continue with the national team during the coming period.”

He added, in an interview with “Arabs Today”, “Although I grew up in Denmark and visited Egypt for only five times, I have the will to participate with Egypt and to represent its national team. It is a strong team and it makes me proud to participate with it.”

He stressed that he was keen to participate with the Egyptian national team since the beginning of his career, stressing that he refused offers to join the youth national teams of Denmark. He added that he came to Egypt to join the youth team under Coach Rabei Yassin, while he was excluded before Africa Cup of Nations held in Algeria.

He added that he was keen to contact with the officials of Egypt’s national team, saying that he responded to the desire of Egypt’s Coach Hector Cuper to join the team’s camp despite his club’s refusal. He added that he held a meeting with the officials of his club to convince them of the importance of joining Egypt’s national team to participate in the friendly match against Togo.

He added that football in Africa is different from Europe, adding that he is satisfied over his performance with the Egyptian national team during his first participation. He expressed his aspiration to resume his work with the Egyptian national team during the coming period, saying that he has a lot of efforts to exert with the Egyptian national team.
