North Korea's goal of simultaneously pursuing nuclear weapons and economic development is a "fallacy," a senior American official said Friday, urging Pyongyang to live up its own commitment to give up nuclear programs.
Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Russel made the remark in response to a question about the health of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un amid speculation the young leader may be suffering from gout due to his poor health and family traits.
