Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday he hoped Arab countries could press the Palestinians to return to talks to reach a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Time of Israel reported.

The Israeli premier made the remarks during a strategic conference near Tel Aviv.

Also, he blamed the Palestinians for the 14-month impasse in negotiations, saying, he felt there was a chance to renew talks if the Palestinians could be persuaded.

"There might be an opening because some of the Arab states silently agree with (my position) ... (and) they might be in a position to influence the Palestinians to adopt a more conciliatory and positive approach," he told the annual Herzliya Conference.
