Fatah Movement Spokesman Rafat Alyan said the Israeli government seeks to manipulate any tension to impose a fait accompli in East Jerusalem.
In statements to BBC Radio on Sunday, Alyan said such Israeli schemes are well-known as Israel wants to fully control Al Aqsa Mosque.
The Palestinian people reject any security solutions in East Jerusalem or Al Aqsa Mosque.
On Saturday, the Israeli premier's bureau announced re-opening the Al Aqsa Mosque for worshipers and tourists as of Sunday.
