Cairo Governor Galal Mostafa announced on Sunday that the Al Asmarat housing project in the neighborhood of El Mokattam would serve only the inhabitants of slum areas.
The project, funded by the Tahya Misr (Long Live Egypt) Fund, aims to provide 16,600 safe housing units for the slum dwellers during the coming period, the governor told MENA.
The residents of Manshiet Nasser, Dar el Salam, Stabl Antar, among other neighborhoods, will be the main beneficiaries.
