The labor inspectorate recorded in 2012, 496 offenses related to working conditions in security companies, minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Mohamed El Ghazi said Thursday.
In response to a question by a member of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) on the situation of security guards, the minister said that in 2012 the Labour Inspectorate recorded 496 violations in 46 security companies.
These offenses include 81 written complaints, 147 minutes of contraventions including offenses related to non-compliance of the guaranteed minimum wage and other related to non-issuance of pay slips.
In this regard, he stressed that the labor inspectorate "makes sure, part of its missions, that all workers enjoy their rights while and punishes any contravention.”
The minister said that "every worker has the right to file a complaint with the labor inspectorate of the territorial jurisdiction according to law, to explain his problem or go to court if he has a record of non-conciliation."
Control operations that have affected these companies found that most of them were paying wages above the minimum threshold set by law and most of them respected general rules of prevention."
