
Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, ZHO, signed a memorandum of understanding, MoU, with the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre that would enhance co-operation between the two to serve people with special needs.
The agreement will create valuable opportunities in this segment, thus building the society and helping people benefit from the available programmes and activities.
Partnerships and integration among social institutions are required to achieve the goals set by the country’s wise leadership to ensure comprehensive social development using the potential of all, H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of ZHO, said yesterday while commenting on the signing of the MoU.
The MoU was signed by Yousif Al Obaidly, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, and Abdullah Abdul Ali Al Humaidan, Member of the ZHO Board. The two institutions aim to increase awareness of the potential of people with special needs.
The ZHO will provide sign language translation services and training for the Centre's employees and Braille copies of the Holy Quran.
Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, lauded the role of the Centre in presenting Islam's true message of moderation and tolerance.
"Thanks to the generous support extended by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, we at the Centre take a keen interest in projecting the approach pursued by the UAE to promote tolerance and moderation," Al Za'abi said.
