
Ambassador Mohamed Hussein Zarouq, has handed over his credentials to the General Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Yukiya Amano, as Sudan Permanent Representative to the IAEA.
Meanwhile, the IAEA General Director has underscored importance of Sudan in the African continent and expressed the agency readiness for constructive cooperation with Sudan.
Ambassador Zarouq has conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic and the Foreign Minister to the IAEA.
The meeting discussed the cooperation between Sudan and the International Atomic Energy Agency and the projects being implemented by the IAEA in Sudan in the fields of the combating of mosquito, nuclear radiation therapy centers and the increase of food grain production through the use of nuclear technology.
It is to be recalled that Sudan is a member of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and will represented by a high-level delegation, led by the Ministry of Science and Communication, at the General Conference of IAEA, scheduled during September 24 - 26.
